Each spring, Carroll District sponsors a district wide Pinewood Derby. All scouts from the district are invited and compete against each other. It's a great chance to get a few more runs out of your car and to have a great time with other scouts from around the district.

1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards for all ranks, as well as for siblings. Special awards presented for best paint, design, and more!

Pinewood Car Specifications

1. Must use BSA wheels and axles as provided in Pinewood Derby kits
2. Must use wood block supplied with BSA Kit
3. Wheels may not be cut, shaped or modified beyond sanding to smooth surface.
4. Wheels must be placed in the slots on the wood block in your BSA kit.
5. Car Dimensions:
   • Width: 2 3/4 in
   • Length: 7 in
   • Bottom clearance: 3/8 in
   • Maximum weight: 5 oz
6. No propulsion methods allowed no sliding weights.
7. DRY wheel lubricants only - no graphite allowed in building

Modified Cars Specifications

This race is open to Cubs and Adults both! See the flyer for details about car specifications.
